Location: West Midlands (predominantly HS2 Kingsbury Depot – Baggeridge)
Rate: £380–£440 per shift (inclusive of vehicle, full Chapter 8 & travel)
Uplifts: +£50 per shift for nights/weekends
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday

Contract Duration:
Initial 3–6 month contract with the opportunity for up to 2 years’ work for the right candidate.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join a key infrastructure contract within the West Midlands region, working predominantly from the HS2 Kingsbury depot (Baggeridge).
You will take responsibility for activities within Sub Lot 2–8, ensuring the safe, efficient and commercially focused delivery of asphalt surfacing works across the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver operational plans and objectives across multiple surfacing schemes
- Organise and manage day-to-day running of asphalt / tarmacadam surfacing contracts
- Supervise gangs, team leaders and operatives on site
- Ensure full compliance with H&S standards including RAMS, briefings and site controls
- Provide strong leadership, guidance and direction to site teams
- Maintain effective communication with client representatives and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Forecasting, programming and planning of works
- Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to maximise commercial value streams
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification
Requirements:
- Proven experience supervising asphalt / tarmacadam surfacing works
- Experience on highways or major infrastructure projects (HS2 experience advantageous)
- SSSTS or SMSTS (Black Hat) – essential
- Strong health & safety awareness and compliance
- Commercial awareness with ability to drive value
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- IT competent (reporting, programming, site systems)
- Full UK driving licence
